  2. I am a beginner and thought I'd try this one. My I'm at the point where I'm ready to sew the sashes of focus fabric to the sewn blocks/strips. Any advice for someone whose never sewn super long strips before? I adore the fabric and would hate to mess it up!! :)

  4. I have the older pattern. The instructions can be a bit confusing. I laid my first one out on the living room floor and put down the long center pieces and also added those same patterned pieces along the top and bottom of the quilt. It came out beautifully and a bit larger. The stacking instructions are what flumox me. I am a quilter but never usually use a pattern. I am also very analytical and get caught up in the detail. I have some COOL CATS fabric in fat quarters that my cousin gave me. I won a FabShopHop gift cert. for 10$ from Stitchen' Heaven in Texas & got a huge piece for the backing. I am going to try this pattern again exactly as it is written for a lap sized quilt for our couch cats. I would be interested to see the revised version of the pattern. Great, easy quilt if the directions could be tweaked just a bit more. Thanks so much, Claire in AZ

  5. My old one got destroyed while in storage after loosing our home. The Lqs doesn't have it any more. Can I order straight from site when I can afford it ? It's always been my go to pattern I ve made several versions always well received gifts. And this yr all gifts have to be handmade when I found this ruined I was very upset.

  6. I am cutting the fat quarters for the 5 and dime and wonder do i cut straight 10 inches or do i cut 10 plus 1/4 for seam allowance? The diagram makes it look like we should cut more than 10 inches. I am a beginner and am confused :(

  7. I am a bit befuddled as I am a left handed quilter. So I know I cut my fabric from the left over. I am just perplexed as to where my lined up fat quarters go on the bottom or the top. Help I have to finish it quickly for moms 80th. I am a fairly accomplished quilter but don't have time for any oppsyys.

I looking for instructions on how many to cut out. If you layer the six fat quarters you cut all the different sizes out so you end up with 6 of the different size pieces. 6 10" pieces etc.??????
