some old and some new.....
Here's some of what I have been working on. These are some of my customers quilts, none of these are pieced by me. This is Nancy's cute little applique with a water/meander allover quilting design. Cute quilt! This is our Just Can't Cut It pattern. A high school senior made this. John Deere in pink. In progress...
Finished and ready to ship back to Colorado. Good job Lacey!
This is Linda's quilt. It is for her daughter. From the Quiltmakers book. Linda makes very pretty quilts.
This is Liz's quilt. Queen size and these are little flying geese. It is quilted with a meander in the center and a separate border. Keeps the cost down and looks custom.
This was made by Sally C. for a local dinner and auction fundraiser. Our little rural community raised $65,000 for a little 4 year old boy with cancer. WOW! People are so generous.
This was pieced by Sally F. This is a printed border. Isn't it cute?
This was designed and pieced by Sally Frey. She does 3 retreats a year in our beautiful Northern California area. If you need a reason to come see our beautiful redwoods and ocean, get on her mailing list to be notified of her next retreat. FGertie{at}aol{dot}com.
I'm loving Spring!!!
Everyone is ready for Spring, right? I keep hounding the local nurseries to see if they have my favorite flowers in yet. I was out till dark last night and tonight I was out after dark with my headlight attached to my baseball hat taking advantage of the time when Cade is sleeping. I got the flowers below planted, I still have 8 wine barrels, 40 wave petunias, and 20 Astilbe's to go!!!Today, I got a little package in the mail from our Veterinarian. It's a little stone in memory of my special friend (Fattie, my kittie) who died from kidney failure last month. So after crying for a few minutes, I put it out with the new flowers that I just planted. She loved to be outside.
This is Fattie on the left, and Chicken S@#! on the right. I think I better explain the names. I got both of these cats from the local rescue about 8 years ago. After several trips to the vet, I had no names for them except cat A & B. I pulled these names out of my demented sense of humor. Fattie really "blossomed" after I got her, and Chicken was scared of everything!! So I thought these names fit and they stuck, Fattie and Chicken for short, I didn't want to offend anybody and I didn't really want my nephews to know her full name. Anyway, I really loved her personality. Animals are definitely a blessing, and she is missed.

How 'bout a little giveaway?
Have any of you ever heard of Moda? Hee Hee Hee!!! Of course, who hasn't?
Well, we have designed a cute little pattern called Petits Fours that you can get for free over at the Moda Bake Shop.
So here is our cute little tablerunner that we designed using just 1 charm pack!! How fun is that? This is the picture that I took out in the frost in my flip flops, cold toes.
(I tried feeding my horses last night in flip flops too. Slipped and fell right in the messy, smelly mud. I mean FULL fall in the mud. I ended up throwing all my clothes in the washer and me in the shower!! Sorry, no pictures!)
So here's the giveaway.
Hop on over to the bakeshop, leave a comment under our Petits Fours tablerunner, then skip back here and leave us a comment for a chance to win a kit to make this tablerunner. Simple!!!!

Brrrrr...
I ran outside this morning to get a picture of a cute little table runner, and this is what I found...these pictures are of our chicken coop. Isn't ice pretty!! My toes were pretty numb and stiff by the time I came back inside. Maybe I'll learn to wear something besides flip flops, probably not!!
I did get a nice picture of our tablerunner on the icy picnic table. I'll have a picture of it in a few days, along with a free pattern for it and a chance to win a kit to make your very own!!

Retreat or Sweatshop?
My husband always says if he had a sweatshop, I'd be his best employee!!
He doesn't understand that he would have a bunch of crazy women expecting lots of eating, laughing, talking and show and tell!!
This picture was definitely a rare moment of calm!!
We had 2 quilt options at the retreat.
Robin was the first one finished with Jelly Girl (we all had our money on Vicki!).
Nifty Nine Patch was the other option and you can see Cyndee got a good start with the first 2 rows of hers.
We also offered this really cute bag pattern called Mixed Bag to Quilt. Cheyenne was one of the first ones finished with hers. She's is becoming quite the sewer. She also quilted a quilt all on her own on my longarm machine, and it looks great!!
We had a great time. There's just nothing like fabric and friends altogether!!
Thanks everyone!!
